Description
LAVLE is seeking a full-time Technical Writer. This position will report to the Operations Engineering Manager.
Essential Functions
- Plan, develop, organize, write, and maintain product documentation, including user manuals, operational procedures, proposal templates, and training materials
- Assist with authoring marketing materials, such as white papers, application notes, and customer proposals
- Implement and maintain a content management system for efficient reuse of content across multiple documents, publishing in multiple formats, and updating a web-based platform
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation, and be the gate keeper of the revision process, release approval, and confidentiality status
- Develop document style guides and drive continuity across the document set and organization
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Solid understanding of version control and content/document management best practices
- Ability to exercise independent judgement in the performance of duties
- Self-driven with enthusiasm and commitment to get the job done
(organizational skills, prioritizing, scheduling, time and record management) - Superior verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues
- Optional but preferred skills:
- Previous experience documenting electro-mechanical hardware products
- Knowledge of batteries, power equipment, and industrial environments
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years relevant experience, or Associate’s degree with at least 8 years relevant experience

Description
LAVLE is seeking a Sales Manager for its Energy Storage System (ESS) product in the commercial marine market. The position will be the face to the customer, seek out opportunities and provide the essential project details for the support organization to deliver proposals to the sales manager to present to the customers. Once projects are mature, the Sales Manager will negotiate the details of the contracts and sales, and finally handover to “fulfillment department” when ready. The Sales Manager will be a modern day road warrior with a lot of customer activity and ability to provide relevant information to management and support organization. This position will report directly to the Executive Vice President.
Essential Functions
- Continually develop LAVLE's brand and build increased awareness in the North America marine marketplace
- Generate and seek out potential sales opportunities in for advanced Energy Storage Systems (ESS) in marine propulsion with shipowners, shipyards and integrators
- Achieve sales goals, including tracking and reporting on progress and success
- Develop and manage relationships with potential clients, influencers and key stakeholders
- Evaluate new opportunities to ensure resources focus on the best opportunities
- Manage proposals, submissions and bids
- Continually monitor competitors and review LAVLE's offering in light of competitors' activities and developments
- Participate in new business contract negotiations
- Work with the LAVLE senior management team in creating a coordinated, global and US sales strategy in the marine sectors
- Identify the annual conferences and tradeshows in which LAVLE should participate
- Provide input into planning LAVLE's participation in conferences and tradeshows outside US
- Provide market and customer-based input to product development and overall sales strategies for LAVLE
- Enter and maintain customer and deal information into the LAVLE CRM system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of commercial marine markets, particularly in the area of marine propulsion
- Experience directly interfacing with shipowners, shipyards and propulsion system integrators
- Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies for key customers
- Experience managing customer relationships and sales opportunities from inception to product delivery
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marine engineering or a related field
- At least 5+ years’ sales experience in the marine industry related to energy storage and propulsion systems
- Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies

- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office 365

Description
LAVLE is seeking a full-time Modeling Engineer, Lithium Ion Battery Systems. This position will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
This position is exempt and not subject to state and federal minimum wage.
Essential Functions
- Assessing, managing and leading testing and application engineering of lithium ion battery technologies
- Leading and managing testing programs to evaluate performance
- Developing battery performance and degradation models
- Sizing and engineering for lithium ion battery systems projects and applications
- Technical input and evaluation for cell selection
- Matching application requirements to battery development process and system capabilities
- Adapting existing battery system designs to requirements of new or advanced technologies
Product and Engineering Domain Experience
- Experience developing testing protocols to evaluate performance of lithium ion batteries
- Experience developing degradation models of lithium ion batteries based on operational profiles
- Experience analyzing or designing electrochemical operation of batteries
- Experience with multiple chemistries
- Component level assessment
- Analyzing degradation
- Performance assessment
- Familiarity with battery production processes
- Experience working in a small company and within small teams is preferred
Tool Skills
- Matlab, Python, or other engineering software for analytical capability
- Experience with Solidworks or Altium a plus
Soft Skills
- Comfortable and proficient at collaborating with engineers of other cultural or national backgrounds. Japanese language skills a big plus.
- Excellent oral communicator.
- Excellent participant and contributor in conceptual design “white-boarding” exercises.

Job Purpose/Summary
This position is responsible for supporting assembly, production, and test of battery modules and related hardware.
Essential Functions
- Assembles battery modules using a kit of materials.
- Align and connect parts together with fasteners using hand and power tools.
- Assembles custom electrical cabinets using a drawing and written specifications.
- Fabricate and fit water lines at various stages of the assembly process.
- Inspect/check parts for proper manufacturing.

LAVLE is seeking a full-time Software Engineer. This position will report directly to the Software Engineering Manager.
This job is located in Burlington, Washington.
This role will be responsible for designing and developing embedded web server software for the control and status aspects of the Battery Management System (BMS) for end users and Service Engineers. The successful applicant will also be responsible for collaborating with the rest of the software engineering team and the regression test engineer to guarantee software conformance to requirements on a regular basis, as part of the company’s quality assurance strategy.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Description
LAVLE is seeking a full-time Hardware Engineering Manager, for product development within the research and development department. This position will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
The primary role is to manage the processes and people within the hardware engineering team to ensure delivery and handovers in accordance with timeline and budget plans. Key responsibilities include developing project plans, being responsible for delivering within timelines and budgets, establishing development processes, and being a primary interface to Operations as well as senior management.
Essential Functions
- Provide management and leadership to the hardware development team and product design cycles
- Develop and manage project plans and coordinate resources
- Prepare and manage project budgets and timelines
- Responsible for On-Time and within budget release of products to Operations (Sales, Production and Ops Engineering)
- Work with purchasing department to cost-optimize products.
- Work closely with technical input of peers to develop industry leading products and technologies
- Facilitate coordination, productivity and alignment between various engineering disciplines within the team as well as with other key stakeholders
- Develop and implement product development processes
- Confer and present status with higher levels of management
- Provide customer facing support if necessary
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Very high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office – Project, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
- High level of experience with process management or planning
- Experience in technical product development and engineering
- Proficiency in engineering software (Matlab, Python, Altium, Solidworks, etc) a plus.
- Experience with battery energy storage or high-power energy conversion systems is preferred, but not essential.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or comparable
- 5 or more years working in engineering field, preferably product development
- 5 or more years management experience with inter-disciplinary engineering team
- Experience working in a small company and within small teams is preferred.
