“As Washington State Ferries works to electrify its fleet and other companies develop regional electric airplanes, few are watching those efforts more closely than Jason Nye.
Nye is the CEO of Lavle, a supplier and developer of powerful electric battery modules for not only the marine transportation sector but also for the aviation, defense, energy and rail transportation sectors. Nye is angling for the 2-year-old company to secure a piece of that action.
“We’re very interested in being involved in those projects,” Nye said. “From a battery standpoint, we are the only manufacturer in Washington state. We want to do as much as we can to meet WSF’s onshore needs and on-ship power needs.””
